Link to Literacy is a comprehensive program for English learners who understand the fundamentals of phonics and phonemic awareness but need more support for grade-level content.This program will help them improve their reading comprehension and fluency while simultaneously learning English.

Developing

At this stage, students typically make rapid progress. They enhance their ability to use English for everyday needs and start incorporating academic vocabulary into their language skills.

Expanding

Students at this stage broaden their English skills across a wider range of contexts, using more diverse vocabulary and language suited to their age and grade level.

At this stage, students develop and apply advanced English language skills in diverse contexts, enhancing their fluency in both understanding and producing written English texts.

Program Structure

Click-n-Go

Link to Literacy is an online daily curriculum that can be used in parts or as a stand-alone program. Teachers project daily lessons and activities on a screen and guide students through the program.

Paced

The program covers 150 days with 45-minute blocks of instruction, separated into four quarters. Each level includes an online scope & sequence, and a weekly pacing calendar.

Reading Essentials

This program focuses on language skills such as reading comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary. It also provides lessons for planning and writing narrative, informative, and persuasive texts.

Research-Based

Lessons and activities are designed around the seven proven components that benefit all students: Learning Objective, Prior Knowledge, Concept, Skill and Guided Practice, Checking For Understanding, Closure, and Spiral Review.

Explicit Guidance

The program uses Explicit Direct Instruction teaching techniques to engage all students in active learning with frequent feedback and checking for understanding.

An Online Portal

Links to all of the resources needed for instruction (curriculum map, lessons, flashcards, posters, and assessments) are conveniently located in one portal!

Posters

Consumable workbooks for students to write in during instruction and review after.

Versatile Lessons

Lessons designed to work for whole-class or small-group instruction. The lessons can also be used for remediation and acceleration as needed

Language Objectives

The lessons and activities use academic and content language as well as multiple visual aids. Lessons include opportunities for students to use all language objectives -speaking, listening, reading, and writing

Assessments

Two quizzes and two assessments per quarter to help teachers determine how students are learning, and if certain skills need more instruction.
